OUR CORE WORK
CSR Advocacy
Surge Impact Foundation manages the Telangana Social Impact Group (T-SIG), Telangana’s official CSR platform mandated with channelizing CSR initiatives. Set up in 2018 by the Telangana government, T-SIG is a unique dashboard for enabling Telangana’s CSR initiatives in collaboration with the corporate sector. As the Project Management Unit, SIF coordinates CSR initiatives, and in the process, serves as the interface between state government, corporate organisations, and beneficiaries in Telangana.
Our success stories include CSR partnerships with corporates like HSBC, Ascendas, Novartis, IBM, Huawei, Novartis, and Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives.
Social Enterprise Development
So far, over 3,00,000 people have benefited from Surge Impact Foundation’s initiatives in the sphere of social entrepreneurship.
SIF’s flagship program supports social enterprises working in the areas of women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, environment protection, and other areas. Our support has helped more than 36 social enterprises spread across 8 cities in India. Some of the startup enterprises that we have benefited from our mentorship include Allika, Ignis careers, Sid’s Farm, Vijayasree Jute, and Ameya Life.
In 2022, SIF initiated one of India’s first Entrepreneurship Incubation Program geared specifically towards supporting LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and organisations. The pilot program was supported by State Street Corporate Services.
Employability Enhancement
Partnering with The Deverakonda Foundation, SIF designed, developed and implemented The First Job Fellowship program to improve the employment potential of students and youth hailing from economically and socially weaker sections of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The agenda focused on empowerment for employment, through collaboration with government, non-profits, and corporate entities.
Mana Rajyangam
Launched on Jan 13, 2022, ‘Mana Rajyangam’ (aka Our Constitution), dreams to co-create a space with the citizens, civil society, and community-based organisations of Hyderabad & Telangana, to understand, acknowledge and practice constitutional values in everyday life, families, and our communities.
AIM
To foster a non-project approach based psychosocial transformation — simultaneous transformation of the self and the associated sociocultural milieu — through dialogues centered on constitutional values and principles in a safe, value-based space, that is based on the spirit of volunteerism, diversity, and collectivization of individual CSOs and community leaders.
With the support of Surge Impact Foundation and CivicAct Foundation, we envision active and informed citizenship exercising rights and carrying out responsibilities in a balanced way by bringing about transformational experiences through co-creation and co-nurturing of spaces.
In the first phase, a community leader shall be identified and onboarded into the community leaders’ space with geographical focus in the next 5 years on building:
6 Administrative Cones | 27 Circles | 150 Wards
We aim to carryout the following activities to promote the spirit and ideals of the Indian Constitution:
- Co-nurturing an active and reflective civil society: Identify, share, build ownership together
- Identify and nurture community leadership
- Building constitution clubs and knowledge-bases for community level actions on constitution and better governance.
