Nurturing Social Entrepreneurs
Surge Impact Foundation (SIF) visualizes a vibrant society that’s powered by social-entrepreneurs. We believe that within every person, there’s an intrinsic social responsibility waiting to be tapped. SIF aims to be the trigger that unleashes progress and prosperity at the micro-level, and sustainable development at the macro-level. At SIF, social entrepreneurship is seen as key to short-term social change and long-term development. Nurturing this sector today is crucial to achieving social developmental goals in the years ahead. As trailblazers of sustainable development in Telangana, SIF has engineered a paradigm shift in the sector.
At SIF, we believe that proffering a helping hand at the right time, can work wonders in uplifting the needy sections of our society. While the government and the corporate sector are ready to help, connecting to deserving beneficiaries comes with many logistical hindrances at ground-zero. With a decade of experience in the realities of ground-level implementation of social upliftment/ poverty alleviation programs, SIF has established its credentials as a catalyst for development in the states of Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. We helped launch multiple social entrepreneurs across India, development programs, and Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
From helping individuals gain financial security, to helping government and corporate entities identify appropriate beneficiaries and causes, SIF is at the forefront of ushering in tangible development. Consistently and transparently.
Surge Impact Foundation manages T-Social Impact Group (T-SIG), Telangana’s official CSR platform mandated with channelizing CSR initiatives. T-Social Impact Group (T-SIG) is a pioneering initiative by the young state of Telangana – home to a vibrant IT, pharma, and Technology ecosystem. Apart from contributing to the state’s financial and business heft, corporates are also active in promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs), through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Aiming to efficiently and effectively channelize CSR funds, the state government established T-SIG in 2018.
At last count, more than 3,00,000 people have benefited from Surge Impact Foundation’s initiatives in the sphere of social entrepreneurship. We believe that, going forward, social entrepreneurs will emerge as vital engines for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). It has also become important to secure society’s strategic interests and align future plans with the post-covid situation. Understandably, SIF has decided to invest in strengthening social enterprise capabilities at the micro-level. To nurture the social impact ecosystem, we regularly organise incubation and acceleration programs customized for social enterprises.
SIF partners with The Devarakonda Foundation (TDF), in developing the employment potential of students and youth hailing from the economically and socially weaker sections of Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The brainchild of popular south Indian movie actor Vijay Devarakonda, the Foundation has been active since April 2019. The First Job Fellowship is one of its initiatives, to equip young men and women, with the advantages of mentorship and training. Essentially, an after-education program, First Job equips fresh graduates with skill sets sought after by prospective employers in a highly competitive jobs market. The fellowship program aims to help fresh graduates secure their first job.
